The Griffith School of Pharmacy business planning team achieved a
creditable second place in the finals of the PharmacGriffithd of
Australia’s National Business Planning Competition, in Hobart recently.
The Griffith University team was placed second behind Monash University but ahead of the University of Sydney team.
The eight-month process involved final-year pharmacy students in the
creation of a viable and sustainable health care business plan for the
real Australian setting, which delivers the students’ own idea of modern
pharmacy practice.
2010 marked the third year that Griffith University School of
Pharmacy students (who are graduates by the time of the finals) entered
the competition which has been running for four years.
Pharmacy team captain Alana Vogt, Carolyn Quirk and Nathan Fisher
presented calm confidence in their presentation, which displayed their
mastery of the business planning process and its complexities.
